چکیده

This paper presents a novel algorithm for detecting user-selected objects in given test images based on a new adaptive lifting scheme transform. Given an object as a template, we first select a set of coefficients as object features in the wavelet transform domain and then build an adaptive transform based on the selected features. The goal of the new adaptive transform is to vanish the selected features in the transform domain. After applying both non-adaptive and adaptive transforms to a given test image, the corresponding transform domain coefficients are compared for detecting the object of interest. In addition, the proposed detection algorithm is combined with the proper log-polar mapping model in the parametric template space to attain rotation/scale invariance property. Finally, we have verified the properties of our proposed algorithm with experimental results. & 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

A New RSTB Invariant Image Template Matching Based on Log-Spectrum and Modified ICA

Template matching is a widely used technique in many of image processing and machine vision applications. In this paper we propose a new as well as a fast and reliable template matching algorithm which is invariant to Rotation, Scale, Translation and Brightness (RSTB) changes. For this purpose, we adopt the idea of ring projection transform (RPT) of image. In the proposed algorithm, two novel s...

Rotation-discriminating template matching based on Fourier coefficients of radial projections with robustness to scaling and partial occlusion

We consider brightness/contrast-invariant and rotation-discriminating template matching that searches an image to analyze A for a query image Q. We propose to use the complex coefficients of the discrete Fourier transform of the radial projections to compute new rotation-invariant local features. These coefficients can be efficiently obtained via FFT. We classify templates in “stable” and “unst...

Ciratefi: An RST-invariant template matching with extension to color images

Template matching is a technique widely used for finding patterns in digital images. A good template matching should be able to detect template instances that have undergone geometric transformations. In this paper, we proposed a grayscale template matching algorithm named Ciratefi, invariant to rotation, scale, translation, brightness and contrast and its extension to color images. We introduc...

Detection of Copy-Move Forgery in Digital Images Using Scale Invariant Feature Transform Algorithm and the Spearman Relationship

Increased popularity of digital media and image editing software has led to the spread of multimedia content forgery for various purposes. Undoubtedly, law and forensic medicine experts require trustworthy and non-forged images to enforce rights. Copy-move forgery is the most common type of manipulation of digital images. Copy-move forgery is used to hide an area of the image or to repeat a por...

Study on Application of Scale Invariant Feature Transform Algorithm on Automated Geometric Correction of Remote Sensing Images

In recent years, data collected from remote sensing satellite and aerophotography have been showing a geometric sequence increase. A method of Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm could be employed for the automatic geometric fine correction. This method could avoid the impact of the rotation and zooming of template matching during the image matching process, and it can also save ...
